Every year, Automattic employees gather together in person for our company-wide meetup. This year we met in Park City, Utah, since we haven’t yet outgrown the Canyons Resort and were able to fit all 400 of us for the second year in a row. It was nice being somewhere familiar, though the altitude kills my sad, sea-level body.
Getting to Utah

Arriving in Park City, Utah
We stayed at the Canyons Resort in Park City, a lovely, spacious resort with great rooms and facilities.

I took plenty of selfies, including with the infamous WordPress.com VIP team.

While there, we did a bunch of activities together. In addition to classes, projects, workshops, and townhalls, we did a lot of hanging out, I played D&D one night, took a painting class, and went to High West, a local distillery brewing up some of my favorite whiskies.

We always take a company photo. This year’s was pretty intense with almost 400 people.
Closing Party
In honor of our 10th anniversary this year, we threw a giant party, featuring music by a whole bunch of talented a12s as well as DJ guests The Jane Doze.

What party is complete without a photobooth?

It was awesome getting to see all of my amazing coworkers and meet dozens of new friends. Can’t wait for next year’s Grand Meetup!
By the way… we’re hiring!
